Granby Hill Climb 10th August 2017

It was a pleasant night – a tad chilly but no rain and not too much wind.  What wind there was may have helped a little on the steepest parts of the climb.

A small field tonight but All Terrain Cycles filled all places on the podium with a grand time from Andy Cunningham in top spot beating his own record, and as a result the previous course record, by 13 seconds.  Very well done to Andy who we understand is also recovering from quite a severe virus.

His team mate Thomas Potter took second place in a time of 12:26 and yet another team mate, Julian Roche was third – just 6 seconds behind in 12:42.

Our sole lady rider tonight was Sarah Gardener who put in a grand performance in 16:57 – not the record for the ladies but an excellent time all the same.

Thank you to all riders tonight.

Thank you also to Liz for standing at the turning point ensuring riders took the correct sharp right turn and to John for rushing off to the finish to time in the first riders before they reached him!

Needless to say, after the gut wrenching effort needed to get to the top, there were no takers for the few cakes I had taken to the finish!!
